Government and Enterprise Join Hands to Donate Fire-Fighting Equipment, Jointly Building a Defense Line for Kwun Tong's Livelihood Safety
To effectively improve the fire safety level in Kwun Tong and reduce the threat of fires to residents' lives and property, Mr. Lin Peidong, vice-chairman of the Kowloon East District All Walks of Life Association and founder of Gartec Technology Co., Ltd ., donated 12,000 pieces of fire emergency equipment worth over HK$1.4 million to the Kwun Tong District Council on January 9, 2025. The donation, known as the "Three Essential Fire-Fighting Items", includes smoke masks, water-based fire extinguishers, and fire blankets. This will significantly enhance the public's ability to save themselves and assist each other during the initial stage of a fire.
Government-Enterprise Collaboration to Strengthen the Safety Network
The Kwun Tong District Council has multiple special committees and working groups, such as those for district facilities and engineering, community participation, cultural and recreational activities, food and environmental hygiene, transportation, housing and development planning, social welfare, women's development, youth affairs, and the promotion of national education, covering all aspects of residents' lives. Under the overall planning and guidance of the HKSAR government, it efficiently connects with district advisory bodies and service organizations, forming a co-governance pattern featuring resource integration, information sharing, and coordinated efforts. This ensures the precise implementation and quality improvement of livelihood services.
Regarding this donation, the Kwun Tong District Council took "demand assessment, standard setting, and refined service" as its core responsibilities, conducting a detailed verification and list management of fire hazards. Jiada Science and Construction, as the enterprise, provided full-cycle support to ensure the sufficient supply, efficient delivery of materials, and practical training. Both parties adhered to a combination of regular and emergency measures, promoting the allocation of fire safety resources to the front line, striving to establish a public safety system of "mass prevention and control" and reducing fire risks in Kwun Tong, demonstrating the safe foundation jointly built by the government and enterprises for the public.

Gartec Technology Co., Ltd ., has always shouldered social responsibilities and cared about public safety, adhering to the concept of "using technology for good". The donated equipment meets current national standards and the technical guidelines of the Hong Kong Fire Services Department, featuring high efficiency, environmental friendliness, and ease of use, which are key to handling initial fires. According to the evaluation of a professional third party, the standardized allocation of this equipment can reduce casualties in initial fires by about 30% to 40%, remarkably enhancing community safety. This donation precisely addresses the urgent needs of public safety, and through the deployment of technological equipment, it achieves the goal of "early prevention and control", vividly interpreting the era's meaning of technology benefiting people.
